BULLS IN THE COMMUNITY

The excitement of baseball season arrived early at Galbraith Elementary School on Thursday, February 12th, as T-Bone and players from the Lethbridge Bulls and Prairie Baseball Academy stopped by to connect with students. The visit was filled with laughs, high-fives, and plenty of baseball talk as they shared stories about teamwork, hard work, and chasing your goals.
Students had the chance to meet T-Bone up close, ask questions, and learn what it takes to play at a high level right here in Lethbridge. It was a great reminder that baseball is more than just a game — it’s about community, leadership, and inspiring the next generation of Bulls fans!

FROM THE PRESIDENTS PEN

Bulls President and General Manager Kevin Kvame has always been passionate about Little League Baseball. Returning enthusiastic from the Little League Conference in Indianapolis, Kevin shared this on the last edition of "The Bullhorn: The Lethbridge Bulls Baseball Report, “There’s lots of developments on the horizon that’s going to make Little League continue to have its spot as the most respected, world-renowned youth sports organization…” He’s not just hyping up the league—he’s talking about a shift in purpose, from trophies to togetherness.
Here’s why it matters for you: When youth sports programs put “the children first” and focus on community, skill development, and positive experiences, everyone wins. Not just the athletes. Parents, coaches, fans, and even local businesses find themselves swept up in something bigger. But there is still work to do when it comes to keeping young children interested in the great game of baseball, "“The most stunning statistic that I found when I was at the Congress was that the age that we lose the most players that leave the sport—want to take a guess?... We don’t do a great job of that 4 to 6 year old program. A lot of leagues in the country think of [tee-ball] as an afterthought. They charge a heck of a lot for that program and don’t give enough value back to it… If we drive them away when they’re six, we probably don’t get them back."
To try and gain interest of youth in baseball the Bulls are bringing T-Ball weekends back to Spitz Stadium for all Saturday and Sunday games this 2026 season. T-Ball teams and their families will be invited to play on the Spitz Stadium Field prior to the Bulls game and get the "big league experience" by joining the Bulls on the field for the national anthem, photo opportunities, autographs and a whole bunch more! Lethbridge is set to host the 2027 Major Little League Canadian Championships in 2027 "And you know this community, and the Lethbridge Bulls are going to be very involved in the next year and a half leading up to the national championship that's in our own backyard next August. We're going to have the top teams in the country come into Lethbridge and one of those teams is going to be Team Canada going to Williamsport. And that's the ultimate dream of it all" -Kevin Kvame
