From Humble Beginnings to Hall of Fame
Kevin's baseball journey began in Fort Macleod as a player, coach then volunteer to where at just 19 years old, he spearheaded the creation of the Fort Macleod Royals American Legion baseball team. This audacious move raised eyebrows, but Kevin's passion and determination quickly won over skeptics.
"You cannot do it... without recognizing how many people had to be part of the history and the teams and the events," Kevin humbly reflects. His ability to rally community support and build lasting partnerships became the cornerstone of his success.
The Power of Grassroots Baseball

Kevin's unwavering belief in Little League baseball as a cornerstone of community development shines through in every word. He emphasizes that Little League isn't just about creating elite players—it's about fostering a love for the game that transcends skill levels.
"You try to get them to love the game," Kevin explains, "and even if they cannot play it at a high enough level... you become a great advocate and a great supporter of the game of baseball."
Challenges and Triumphs

Kevin doesn't shy away from discussing the obstacles faced in growing baseball programs. He highlights the need for improved facilities and the constant effort required to keep youth engaged. However, his optimism shines through as he discusses some recent successes in and the Lethbridge baseball community. The renovation of Spitz Stadium, the continued growth and passion in youth sports programs, and the upcoming hosting of the Major Canadian Championships at Canola Harvest Field in 2027. Kevin's excitement for the future of baseball in Southern Alberta is palpable. He sees a landscape rich with passionate individuals and growing programs. His ultimate dream? To see a local team make it to the Little League World Series in Williamsport. "It would be just unbelievable to send a team to Williamsport from the Lethbridge area," Kevin says, painting a vivid picture of what that achievement would mean for the community.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $70 for adults and $35 for children under 12.
