Bulls Have 6 Games in 6 Days ahead of them

The Lethbridge Bulls have a nice stretch of home games in front of them where they will play 8 home games at the friendly confines of Spitz Stadium in 8 days. Because of rescheduling for rain, re-routes because of stadium availability and the annual Canada Double Header the Bulls will be able to eat some home cooking for a welcome stretch of the WCBL season.

Lethbridge began their long home stand with a pair of 13-2 wins over the Energy City Cactus Rats on Tuesday night at Spitz Stadium. The two games were originally scheduled to be played over separate days in Spruce Grove but because of construction delays the WCBL rescheduled the games as a double header at Spitz that would see the Bulls play as the "visiting" team. The Bulls took full advantage of the weary Cactus Rats, who have yet to play a home game this season, and won game one of the double dip on the strength of two Jack Kalisky home runs.

In game two, it was deja vu all over again as the Bulls cruised to another blowout win over the Cactus Rats. This time it was Lee Matsuzaki of Honolulu Hawaii who led the charge offensively for the Bulls going 2-5 with 3 RBI's including a triple. Matsuzaki is currently hitting .300 on the season with 2 HR's, 3 triples and 14 RBI's.

The Bulls continue their long home stand Thursday against the three time defending WCBL champs. The Bulls have a 2-1 record against the Dawgs this season with all games being played at Seaman Stadium in Okotoks including last Sunday that saw Levi Abbott take a perfect game into the 7th inning. The last time the Dawgs visited Spitz Stadium was in the 2024 WCBL playoffs that saw the Bulls win a thriller vs Okotoks before losing in a 3-game extra inning thriller. The Bulls then will have the night off on Friday but Spitz Stadium will be alive with action as the annual Battle of the Badges charity softball game takes place between the Lethbridge Police Service and the Lethbridge Fire and Rescue Service take the field. DJ Revello in the YQL Sound machine will be setting up shop for a tailgate party in the parking lot at Spitz and a first reponders vehicle "petting zoo" will be set up so people can get a good look at the different vehicles that both squads use up close and personal. Gates open at 5:00 with first pitch at 7:00

The action down at Spitz continues throughout the weekend with games Saturday through to the annual Canada Day double header. Saturday night the Brooks Bombers return to Lethbridge after defeating the Bulls Monday afternoon 10-5. That game was a heated affair between the two clubs that saw the benches clear in the first inning and both teams showing a lot of emotion towards each other after hitting home runs. Our friends from across Parkside Drive, Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens are the game day sponsors and It's Tee-Ball Saturday Night and 5 "O'Clock Somewhere" night so gates open at 5:00. First pitch is 7:05.

The rivalry with the Okotoks Dawgs continues with back to back games on Sunday afternoon and Monday evening. Sundays game is on the schedule and will see the Bulls debut their all new "Windy City" uniforms. Game time is 2:05.

Monday's game is a makeup game from the June 21st rainout, all tickets dated for that night will be honored at the gate. Keep the long weekend going down as you get to sleep in on Tuesday morning and come join the party down at Spitz Stadium

And last but certainly not least is the annual Canada Day Double Header with this years opponents being the Weyburn Beavers. Tickets for both games are selling fast. It's a Lethbridge tradition to take in the Bulls game and then fans are invited to watch the fireworks above Henderson Lake from the beautiful Spitz Stadium field. Also a friendly reminder, tickets for the first game are not valid for the second game and fans will be asked to leave Spitz Stadium between the two games.
