Bulls Drop 2nd Straight to Med Hat

06/23/2016 2:27 PM -

The Bulls were in Medicine Hat last night to take on the league leading Mavericks. After a disappointing late inning loss on Tuesday night the Bulls were looking to take one back. The boys led for the first 8 innings of the game. A combination of a couple mistakes cost the Bulls 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th resulting in a 4-3 victory for the Mavs. The Bulls again left too many runners on base on Wednesday night. A clutch hit here or there could have broken the game open for the Bulls. The Bulls have now lost 6 games on the year and all but one of those loses have been decided by one run.

Tanner Dalton started on the mound for the Bulls and was outstanding. The Mavs could not find an answer to Dalton through the first 6 innings of the ball game. Dalton allowed only 1 run through the first 6. In the 7th Dalton was victimized by the long ball from Med Hat cleanup hitter Alex Alders who took Dalton deep over the left field wall. The homerun got the Mavs back in the game and bred some life back into the Medicine Hat squad. Alders notably took his time leaving the batters box while he admired his homerun. A fact that was not lost on this Bulls team.

At the plate Brock Frentzel led the way for the second straight night. After launching two homeruns on Tuesday night, Brock went 3-3 with 2 RBI’s and a walk on Wednesday evening. Frentzel now sits with a .338 average on the year. Mitch Dornblut and Lachlan Mayo also picked up 2 hits a piece.

The Bulls will return home on Thursday night when they host the Brooks Bombers at Spitz Stadium. Game time is 7:05pm.
