Bulls 6 Mavericks 2

07/21/2014 11:00 AM -

It was quite a heated match at Spitz Stadium for the Bulls yesterday evening July 20th as they faced the Mavericks for the second time this July!

Starting pitcher for the Bulls was #10 Alex Regan who made quick work of the Mavericks in the first 2 innings. It wasn't until the bottom of the 4th that we got our first runs on the board with a walk-in run making the score 1-0 Bulls. A wild pitch led to one additional run in the bottom of the 4th before we went to the top of the 5th and #28 Chris Stodolka stepped up to pitch. Top of the 6th and we gave up one run to the Mavericks but another run in the bottom of the 6th off some excellent steals and the Bulls still were in the lead with a score of 3-1. By the 8th the score was 3-2 Bulls and #36 Dylan Hastings was pitching for the Bulls. Bottom of the 8th was a good one for the Bulls as we had some big hits by #25 Travis Steinke with a triple, and two singles by #16 Taylor Hutchinson and #24 Nolan Bumstead. Nolan Bumstead brought in 1 off his single making the score 4-2 and a wild pitch and Mavericks catcher error led to another 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th making the score 6-2 Bulls! A final pitching change to #20 Jake Hansen rounded out the game and gave the Bulls the 'W'!

As of writing this article the Bulls are still 1st in the league with a record of 26-13. The Bulls are looking to keep this momentum going straight into playoffs!.

The Bulls take the night off to rest up as they will be heading to Medicine Hat for a rematch on Tuesday (Be sure to check it out online)!
