Bulls Split First Two Games of Series

08/03/2017 1:23 PM -

Tuesday night the Bulls pulled off the extra innings win to take down the Medicine Hat Mavericks 3-2 and take a 1-0 series lead. Jesse Hilyard was the hero in the bottom of the 10th inning, hitting a walk off single to lift the Bulls to victory. Brady Moxham started on the mound and was outstanding. Moxham threw 9 innings, gave up 6 hits, 2 runs and struck out 6 Maverick hitters. Louis Corral pitched a clean 10th inning to pick up the victory on the mound. The Bulls banged out 11 hits on offense, including a 3-4 night from Brett Semeniuk, Alex Bishop was 2-4 with an RBI, and Nolan Handley also pitched in 2 hits going 2-3 on the night.

In game two last night the boys came out on fire. They put up 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning, and were threatening for more. Those 3 runs were all the team could muster however and they dropped the game 6-3, which evened the series at 1-1. Greg Hollman started on the mound and was pretty good over 6 innings of work. The big right hander gave up 4 runs, 3 earned, striking out 4. It was one of those nights where the Bulls hit a number of balls hard right into the opposing defense. Give Medicine Hat credit, they got a few clutch hits when they needed them, and the Bulls could not answer.

Heading into tonight the Bulls will send young left hander Wesley Moore to the mound. It is sure to be another exciting game, as these two teams are extremely closely matched. First pitch is at 7:05pm. Game 4 will go tomorrow night in Medicine Hat, and Game 5 will be back in Lethbridge on Saturday if necessary.
