Bulls vs Mavericks Playoff Series
The Bulls finished the 2009 season in second place in the West Division and home field advantage for the first round. The Mavericks finished the season in third place after beating the Edmonton Prospects on the second last day of the season.
This will mark the first time since 2007 that the Bulls will be hosting a playoff series. The last time the Bulls hosted a playoff series they were able to make it all the way to the league final. The Mavericks on the other hand are in the playoffs for the first time since 2006 and are looking for a long playoff run.
The Bulls were able to take the season series from the Mavericks with a record of 8-4. The series looked alittle lopsided but all the games were competitive and entertaining. If the season series was any indication, then the fans are in for a real treat in the post season. On Thursday, the league named its all star line-ups, with both the Bulls and Mavericks being represented. Dustin Bissonnette was named to the first team all star, while the Mavericks had Jason Hague and Erik Church named to the second team all star.
If these two teams are going to go anywhere in the playoffs, they are going to need contributions from their all stars.
The series starts July 31st at Spitz Stadium at 7:05 PM and game two goes August 1st, at the same time. The series shifts to Medicine Hat for games 3 and if necessary game 4. If the series goes the distance, game 5 will be back here at Spitz Stadium at 7:05 PM on August 4th.
