Offence Wins One In Medicine Hat
The offence came alive for the Bulls in Medicine Hat Tuesday night. Players and coaches alike have both been lamenting the lack of run production recently. But the Bulls banged out 17 hits against the Mavericks on their way to 12-10 win.
The games was tied 5-5 after three innings. The Bulls took a 7-5 lead after four, but Medicine Hat went up 9-7 after 6. The Bulls regained the lead for good with two runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth.
Several players had mulitple hit games,with Brendan Miller leading the way. After collecting three hits Sunday against Yorkton Miller got three more against Medicine Hat, going 3 for 6. Zach Rhodes went 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBI. Eric Dorton, Jesse Sawyer and Josh Lowden all had two hit games and drove in two runs each. Sawyer also hit a home run.
Richard Pharr was the winning pitcher in relief of starter Matt Bannister. Pharr pitched two and one-third innings, allowed one run on 3 hits, no walks, and struck out five to improve his record to 3 and 0. Steve Hogue recorded the save, going two innings, giving up one run on one hit and striking out three.
The win moves the Bulls record to 8 and 10. Following a trip to Okotoks Wednesday, the Bulls open an eight game home stand Friday night against Medicine Hat. It's Country 95 "Pack The Park" Night with game time 7:05.
