Melville Shuts Out The Bulls
After losing three games in the late innings the Bulls were shut out 8-0 Saturday by the Melville Millionaires. The loss was the team's fourth straight and drops the Bulls record to 6 and 10.
Righthander Adam Reynolds took the loss, his first of the season. He now has a record of 4 and 1. Reynolds went five and one-third innings, gave up six runs on eight hits, struck out four and walked three. Mitch Schaafsma pitched two and two-thirds in relief. He allowed two runs on three hits, struck out four, and did not walk a batter.
There was no score after one inning. But Melville got four runs in the second and never looked back. The Bulls managed six hits, five of them by two players. Assistant Coach John Henry Marquarat was in the line up as the designated hitter, and went 3 for 4. Zach Rhodes was 2 for 4 with a double.
The Bulls are in Yorkton Sunday afternoon to face the Cardinals, the final of six games in Saskatchewan. Then three more games on the road, two in Medicine Hat and one in Okotoks, before returning home Friday, June 26.
