After coming back in the ninth inning to win the opener of a nine game road trip, the Bulls were the victims of a late game comeback Wednesday in dropping a 7-5 decision to the Saskatoon Yellowjackets. The Bulls took a 5-4 lead to the bottom of the eighth but couldn't hold on to it, comitting two costly errors that opened the door for Saskatoon to score three runs and record only their third win of the season.

The Yellowjackets took an early lead, scoring four runs in the first off starter Matt Bannister. The Bulls cut the lead to one run, scoring three times in the third, then added two more in the seventh to take a 5-4 lead. But Saskatoon regained the lead for good with a three spot in the bottom of the eighth.

Jimmy Munnil was tagged with the loss, although Coach Scott Rhodes said the righthander from Roseville, California didn't deserve it, citing the two errors behind him as the turning point in the game. Bannister went five innings, allowing four runs on seven hits. He gave up one walk and struck out five. Jared Mortenson pitched two scoreless innings of relief and gave up only one hit.

The Bulls out hit Saskatoon 11-10, but comitted four errors. The two veterans lead the offence. Ryan MacDonald was 3 for 3 and scored two runs. While Dustin Bissonnette continues his remarkable season. The Bulls shortstop was 2 for 3 with two RBI.

The loss drops the Bulls record back below .500 at 6 and 7. Taylor Reid gets the start Thursday against the Cardinals in Yorkton.
