The Okotoks Dawgs continue to dominate the Bulls at Spitz Stadium. After a 10-9 win last Thursday, the Dawgs won another Saturday night, erasing a 5-2 Bulls lead in the sixth with five runs on their way to a 9-7 win.

The Bulls out hit Okotoks 15-8. But the Dawgs took advantage of the their opportunities after trailing early in the game. The Bulls lead 4-0 after three innings, as Dustin Bissonnette drove in two runs with a triple and Josh Lowden added an RBI double.

Okotoks cut the lead in half with a pair of runs in the fourth. But the Bulls made it 5-2 after five, scoring a run in the fifth thanks to three errors by Okotoks, including two dropped fly balls in the outfield.

The Dawgs took control of the game in the sixth. The first two batters for Okotoks doubled and walked off starting pitcher Taylor Reid. He was replaced by Jared Mortenson, but the Dawgs rally continued with five runs crossing the plate before newcomer Curtis Smith came in to get the third out.

Okotoks scored two more runs off Smith in the seventh. Richard Pharr came in to get the third out. The Bulls also committed two of their four errors in the seventh inning.

The Bulls closed the gap to 9-7 with two runs in the eighth. Jamie Mitchell and Ryan MacDonald got base hits and scored on a double by Bissonnette. The five year WMBL vet went 3 for 5 in the game and drove in four runs.

OKotoks managed to abort and two out Bulls rally in the bottom of ninth. Dawgs starter Jeff Duda was replaced in the eighth by Lee Ingram. (Duda left the game after throwing 142 pitches). Ingram got the first two batters to ground out in the ninth. But Zach Rhodes and Mitchell kept the game alive with back-to-back singles, and MacDonald walked to load the bases. Ken Fuglerud pinch hit for Eric Dorton and popped to second base to end the game.

The loss drops the Bulls record to 4 and 6. Reid was the losing pitcher. Pharr was outstanding in relief, pitching 2 and one-thirds innings, didn't allow a run, gave up one hit, struck out two and did not walk a batter.

The Bulls will try and salvage the final game of the four game home stand Sunday afternoon against the Medicine Hat Mavericks. It's Seniors Sunday, with all seniors getting into the game free! Bulls will also be recognizing the club's tenth anniversary. Game time at Spitz Stadium is 2:35 pm.
