The 2013 2nd Annual TCMM Memorial Game will be played at Spitz Stadium on Wednesday May 29, 2013.  The Bulls, PBA, Vauxhall Academy, and some Alumni of the programs will participate in this special game that raises dollars for the Tanner Craswell/Mitch MacLean Memorial Fund.

"Their presence will always be at Spitz Stadium.  It was like a second home for me during the summers," Shayna Conway commented during a CTV - W5 interview in November 2012.  Tanner Craswell and Mitch MacLean were lost in December 2011 in the now infamous murder in Claresholm, AB as the two Bulls players made their way to Calgary to go home for Christmas.

The Bulls retired the two players' numbers at the first TCMM Memorial Game on May 30, 2012 and now the mock jerseys are displayed with names/numbers on the outfield wall at Spitz Stadium.  The Bulls also recognized the boys throughout the year by placing their numbers (Craswell - 13 and MacLean 6) at their main positions of SS and 2B prior to each home game in the summer.   The Bulls also flew a PEI flag on each of the du gout flag poles during the 2012 season.

The Lethbridge Bulls, Prairie Baseball Academy, and Vauxhall Academy of Baseball were all extremely pleased with the tribute and donation by the Toronto Blue Jays at the Blue Jays Home Opener on April 9th. Tanner & Mitch were remembered appropriately and they can now say they have made the Big Leagues.

Locally, the Lethbridge Bulls partnered with their 2012 Host Pub, Scores Thirst & Grill, to put on Baseball Opening Night in Lethbridge. The night featured great friends and a good time, including the ceremonies viewed live on location, a raffle draw for signed memorabilia donated by the Toronto Blue Jays, capped by the Blue Jays home opening game against the Boston Red Sox. Totals have not been tallied for the wristband sales and raffle ticket sales from the draw but those numbers will be forthcoming very shortly. In the mean time, if you wish to donate to the Tanner Craswell & Mitch MacLean Memorial Fund you can do one of three things:

The fund is established at the Bank of Nova Scotia, and anyone that wishes to donate can go to any Scotiabank branch in Canada to donate.

December 15, 2011

The Lethbridge Bulls organization is mourning the loss of two outstanding players who played with the Bulls through the past season. Tanner Craswell, age 22 and Mitch Maclean, age 20 were both killed in a tragic shooting on Highway 2 north of Claresholm early Thursday morning (December 15th). Tanner and Mitch were on their way home to PEI for Christmas holidays, they were being driven up to the Calgary Airport by Shayna Conway and her friend Tabitha Stepple. Shayna was the only survivor of the shooting and is currently in a Calgary hospital.  The shooter, an ex-boyfriend of Stepple committed suicide by shooting himself after firing numerous rounds at the four victims, three of which did not survive.

Tanner and Mitch will be greatly missed by not only their families but by everyone with the Bulls Organization and the Prairie Baseball Academy.

Tanner played 2 seasons with the Bulls (2010 and 2011) and he was selected as the All-Star shotstop in the WMBL during the past season. Mitch played this past season with the Bulls (2011) and was named Team Rookie of the Year. Both are graduates of the PBA program out of Lethbridge, Alberta. They were attending Lethbridge College and were expected to play with the Bulls again in 2012.  They were both living at the residence of Bulls President/General Manager Kevin Kvame who summed it up for the baseball community, "It is the most devastating thing to happen to baseball in our area and to everyone associated with the Bulls, Dawgs, and Jets.  We cannot believe that this tragedy occurred to these two special individuals who will be sorely missed by so many."
