Bulls drop second straight in Saskatchewan
The Lethbridge Bulls dropped their second straight game on their current Saskatchewan road trip falling to the Moose Jaw Miller-Express 4-3 on Sunday. Once again the Bulls offense was quiet compiling only 6 hits in the ball game. David Dorton led the way going 1-for-3 with 2 runs scored and Kym Barthel contributed with a solo home run in the 3rd inning, his first of the season.
Jared Mortensen was solid in his first start of the season for the Bulls, throwing 6 complete innings allowing just 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 7 Moose Jaw hitters. Regan Calvert suffered the loss on the mound after allowing 2 runs on 2 hits in just 1 inning of relief.
The Bulls slide to 2-3 on their current road swing and 6-7 overall on the 2012 campaign. "We hit the ball a lot better tonight but just didn't get the breaks needed for the victory" stated head skipper Scott Rhodes. "We have a chance to finish .500 on this road trip which would put us in a good position heading back home where we play our best ball."
The Bulls will complete the Saskatchewan road trip Monday night when they take on the Regina Red Sox at 7:05pm.
