Every week throughout the season one member of the Bulls family will be asked to sit down with us and answer some questions regarding a wide range of subjects both on and off the playing field.  For the first segment of Bulls Q & A we sat down Bulls General Manager Kevin Kvame and got his insight into the 2009 season.

Q: What are your thoughts on the new coaching staff coming to Lethbridge in 2009?

A: We're really excited about the new staff.  It's a fresh start for the Bulls after underachieving (for Bulls standards) in 2008, and I think it will be good for re-installing the winning tradtions of both the Bulls franchise and of this community.

Q:  What are your expectations for the Bulls on the field this season?

A: Our expectations are the same as any year;  Compete for the Western Division Title and being able to make a long run into the playoffs with the ultimate goal of bringing a championship to Lethbridge.

Q: What are your thoughts on the recruits to dawn the Bulls jersey in 2009?

A: As much as it sad to see veterans of the Bulls move on, new blood is always good to see.  We've contnued our great relationship with schools such as Louisiana State University-Shreveport, and both Coach Rhodes and Coach Fuglerud have done good jobs signing players from their Alma Maters (Fuglerud - Saint Mary's College of California; Rhodes - Tapping the Alamogordo, New Mexico talent pool) as well other highly regard schools throughout Canada and the USA.  I think that the mix of new blood along with the core of returners set us up nice to make a run at the championship.

Q: Who are the players to look out for in 2009?

A: I think with any season we have high expectations for any player we sign.  It's hard to pick one out from the 2009 crop and I look forward to seeing them perform in front of our Lethbridge fans.

Q: How would you rate our community involvement and/or support of the Lethbridge Bulls?

A: Lethbridge has a rich tradition of being a baseball mecca in this country.  We find that the community is coming to the ballpark more each year as we work on improving our relationship within Lethbridge from year to year.  We (The Bulls) have high expectations of how our players should handle themselves off the field as we have seen the town embrace these kids as one of their own on a yearly basis. I honestly feel that we have the best combination of fan support and community involvement in Canada.

Q: If you had to guess the matchup in the final game of the championships, who would be competing for the crown, who would win, and what would the score be?

A: Hahaha.  Bulls 4 - Swift Current 2, in front of sold out crowd at Spitz Stadium.
